The Shocking Truth About Walking Away

By Evan Sanders

We've all been there.

We've been in a situation where our love is being abused, we feel horrible about ourselves and we know we should walk away from the person who is taking complete advantage of us but are finding it very hard to.

Everyone has been there. For our own sake, we have to respect ourselves to walk from bad situations where we are being used and move on.

There's this really interesting art in leaving people who don't treat you well, respect you enough to reply to you, or don't act like you mean much to them.

How do you say goodbye to someone without losing yourself, burning bridges, or disrespecting the person across from you? Tough question. But if you lead from your heart and speak your truth you can hardly go wrong.

This can be incredibly hard to do at times.

At what point do you hold your head up high and walk away from the relationship?

Your heart. If you feel deeply in your heart that you have given everything that you have to offer, given the person across from you chance after chance and they still aren't willing to give back to you, walk away. Walk away as fast as you can because that person is going to continue to take advantage of you for as long as you are around.

However, when you start to learn really what you are worth, you find it easier and easier to walk away from people who don't love you and respect you.

This doesn't at all mean that doing this isn't a painful process. It can be incredibly painful.

If you don't walk away from toxic people, you will lose yourself in the end and have to deal with the regret of knowing that you had a chance to save yourself all of this heartache.

Be courageous and walk away.

Of course, there's an art form in being able to give people second chances and really knowing when enough is enough. Truth is, you really have to dig into your heart when you are in these moments and let your inner wisdom speak.

However, always know what you are worth and be willing to stand your ground.

If you want to live a truly brilliant life, you have to devote yourself to never settling. Never settle for "good enough" because eventually that will turn into mediocrity. Instead, aim as high as you can because even though you will never achieve perfection, you will hit something called "excellence."

And living a life full of love and excellence is the way to go.
