Once the guidelines are followed, one can expect to get the record after a maximum of 10 working days if there are no delays.

The marriage records of Illinois are archived at the Department of Health of the state. But the said office is not responsible for releasing copies of the said file. The office can only help in verifying the needed information. One has to go to the county clerk office where the marriage was registered. Requests can be prioritized if it was sent by mail since the staff also has other tasks that they may overlook undocumented requests.
