They pretend to be prophets sent by God by preaching false prophecies for their own selfish interest. That is, asking for offerings, favors and claiming to have the power to heal all kinds of calamities, be it sickness, poverty etc.
These false prophetic pastors usually tell people what they want to hear, like they will be rich, powerful and blessed abundantly only if they give them a small offering in terms of money. They drift the people away from the truth leading them astray.
It has become difficult to differentiate the true prophetic pastors from the false one. But some of the common characteristics that the false prophets posses are; their desire for money and power. The bible says that their hearts are trained to be greedy. Only a true Christian with a lot of faith has the gift to know the right from wrong.
